John Mayer Isn't Googling Himself, He says

John Mayer is setting it straight concerning gossip that got started in the New York Post stating that he's "so self-obsessed, he Googles himself every morning, and has been known to respond to online rumors just to clear the air." So, what does John do? Refute this by responding to this online rumor just to clear the air.

In a fit of rage ready to rip these guys a new one John unleashes his verbal attack with such venom by stating on his blog, "This is, quite simply, untrue. – John." Yeah, so there - you tell 'em John!!!
