John Ritters wife, tv star Amy Yasbeck had filed a wrongful death lawsuit worth $67 million. In 2003, September 11th he had died suddenly from an aortic dissection - that's a tear in the wall of the aorta.

During the opening arguments today in the John Ritter wrongful death case, the sitcom star's widow, Amy Yasbeck, was in an extremely emotional state; she was crying alongside John's 27-year-old son, Jason, whose eyes were also full of tears.
Amy's lawyer, Moses Lebovits, said that the Ritter family had lost "a wonderful man and an extraordinary father."
The Fonz, Henry Winkler, who was with John on the day he died in September 2003, is expected to testify in the $67 million lawsuit this afternoon
